Sharp spike in dengue cases across Malaysia

The Health Ministry acts to quash mosquito breeding as infections rise nearly threefold. Malaysia is experiencing an alarming spike in the number of dengue cases across the country, with states such as Johor and Penang reporting a near threefold jump in cases over the same period last year.

Selangor has been the worst hit so far, accounting for half of the total number of cases and two of the 10 deaths related to dengue fever.

Malaysia recorded a total of 43,346 dengue cases for the whole of last year, with 92 deaths …..
